You have GOT to be kidding me.
Is there a baby out there or a little kid for that matter that likes that nasal bulb squeegee thing? I think not. We also have this saline nasal spray that describes itself as “a comforting mist”.
*ahem* *bullshit*
I only ask because things like this wander through ones mind as one, at 5:00am, is pinning ones 7 month old down to squirt some good old comforting mist up its nose and then attempting to ram the squeegee thing up a tiny flailing nostril. He also tried to pin me with a small beady eye and beam a death ray at me but it was dark so he missed, thank god.
I’ve been sick for like 6 days. It started as a very slight head cold and I was all, “oh I’ll shake this in no time”. Then it morphed horribly into a sinus infection and then yesterday was all out doom. My limbs were heavy and my brain was foggy and I couldn’t breath. I’ve used 400 boxes of kleenex.
Vim took this opportunity to get sick too. His brand of sickness is NOTHING like mine. It’s like he gets to do all the whining but has none of the symptoms. I do not understand this and it irks me extremely. How can you call yourself sick if you have not blown your nose once? or twice? or at all? I think his body just goes all out and decimates him while it is fighting off the bug so he ends up having one or to days of being all destroyed but then get s better while my body gives up the fight right away and then wallows in snot for 14 weeks. It suuuuucks.
Yesterday was like the longest day eva. Today is slightly better. Vim seems to be chipper but I am still a zombie and somehow no drugs are helping me. Sudafed, cold and flu tylonal, robitussin… none of them are helping me.
Jack is his basic cheerful self but obviously sick with the sneezles and the coughs. There has been a bit of fussiness and the whole death ray thing. Yesterday he did not want to play by himself or be put down and today he is happy to play on the floor or in his crib.
Having a sick baby is so sad! There isn’t all that much I can do for him! We bought him a cool mist humidifier and occasionally torment him with the nasal bulb but what else is there to do?
