‘Tis true. i even find it amusing to look back at how hard it was.
for several weeks i slept with him on my chest all night (he was very sweaty…). each time he woke up to eat i would have to wake up Vim to help me. every noise he made made me freak a bit. i had no idea how to handle a baby and he was so tiny and frail looking. and he screamed a fair amount at night in those days.
he’s such a robust baby now! i haul him around with me everywhere. i do not use the sling much, i should try to use it more.
we have a bed time routine now. around about 8 or 9 we give him a bath with one of us in teh tub holding him. he seems to like it and we are teaching him how to splash his hands. he has a toy boat that was LM’s and a rubber duck (not my vibrating one…) he generally goes right to sleep after his bath and sleeps until 3:00 or 4. sometimes even 5 or 6. then wakes up again a like 7 or 8.
i think he must be having a growth spurt because he has been extra sleepy lately and wanting to eat more the past two days.
he is very sweet and smiley now. i’ve been trying to teach him how to grab things. he grabs his own hands and sometimes even manages to grab a toy from his hangy playmat. he def. tries to reach attractive looking toys now.
where’d he go? when you find him notice the all pink outfit…
i think i am going to have a seizure just looking at that photo. we broke out the box of toys bri and mamamer gave us before jack was born. it was like giftmas (or foister)! thanks guys!! now his play mat is a veritable heaven of brightly colored shtuff.
i just got back form m infant CPR class. i’m very glad i took it. i had no idea that they change the CPR rules all the time. the CPR things in my head were NOT acceptable. now i know. and now i am majorly afraid of the time to come soon when little dude puts everything in his mouth. our house is a seething pit of teeny tiny choking hazards.
oh, also. jack has noticed vger as a separate entity. when she meows he will whip his head around to look at her and if i hold him up to her he will wave his little hands and attempt to grab. aw!
